I found your blog while Googling "ALCAT" to see if I could see what others' experiences have been with it. I was diagnosed with RA back in November 2010 and have begun the daunting journey of trying to figure out what I can do besides taking NSAIDS, methotrexate, and biologics. I haven't started Humira yet in hopes following the ALCAT guidelines will help and I can avoid it. I've been on this Godforsaken diet for almost a month and have been excluding all grains, potatos and corn on the advice a naturopath who I was referred to by Barbara Allen. The naturopath seems to think my RA all goes back to gluten intolerance and cross-sensitivities. Who knows. I'm willing to try anything.

I've spend a couple hours searching through the blog for more recent updates and can't find any. I would so very much appreciate hearing what conclusions you've come to regarding food sensitivites, if you found you cleared them up by eliminating yours. I'm very interested in where you are with your RA (I pray it's manageable these days) and if the LDN has helped you and if you've found anything else worth looking into. I've been on the various RA websites and forums and it is mind-numbing trying to make sense of everything I'm reading. You seem to have to researched the alternatives like no one else I can find, so your input would be invaluable to me.

Thank you so much for posting your ALCAT results and your trials and tribulations with RA, the diet, etc. I had about 30% more than you but I didn't feel so alone with how hard it is to do this. It has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but as you know, pain is quite a potent source of motivation. Thanks for anything further you can share with me on all this.

Sincerely,
Caryn Addonizio

PS I really enjoyed reading through many of your posts while looking for those on ALCAT, LDN, etc. Will probably start following : )Carynaddonoreply@blogger.com
